How to Market Real Estate in the Suburbs

With many people wanting to protect themselves from the Corona Virus some home buyers who thought they wanted to buy a home in the city are now rethinking the move.  With fewer people and it being easier to social distance in the suburbs people are now considering moving out of the city. Although they are considering a move to the suburbs, they are still on the fence wondering if safety can outweigh convenience.    What are some ways as a Real Estate Professional that you can market effectively houses in the suburbs?




Here are some things to try.


  • Highlight properties in the suburbs using video.  Bring the area alive.  Video of the area with features it has to offer will make the suburbs look and feel like home.  Perhaps show some of the quaint shops and restaurants offering outdoor and social distancing protocol.  If they get a feel for what the area has to offer, they may feel more confident with the decision to pursue a home in the suburbs.  Video also gives the opportunity to describe the area with your voice.  Although pictures say a thousand words videos can project more of a personal feel.

  • If a potential client has family the safety of the suburbs not only from the virus but for their children is a high priority.  Show the local playgrounds and what the school systems have set up for dealing with the virus.  If the property offers an area where there is a gated community let them know this important feature.  Often in these types of communities there are numerous amenities that will appeal to families with children and even those without.

  • The use of Social Media is also important in marketing.  You want to stay on top of your media outlets daily if possible.  Doing this lets people know that you take your job as a Real Estate Professional seriously and you care about their needs.  Post photos, ask questions and be sure to answer the questions in a timely manner.  People love being involved in discussions and feeling like their needs are being met.
